Like Paguera, a number of places and residential areas belong to the municipality of Calvia . These include also for example Santa Ponsa , Camp de Mar , Magaluf and Capdella.
The coastal strip of the municipality is 54 kilometers long and has a wooded area in the interior. The area around Calvia is surrounded by numerous forests and the Tramuntana mountain range and protected against the north winds.
You can make round walks and individual Trekking Tours all the year ( there are more than 100 kilometers on country roads ). Different native plant species grow on the rocky shores, such as the Aleppo pine . In the community you can find a large number of old mansions. Similarly you can drive along the coast and explore many of the former watchtowers that served as protection against pirates . A cultural highlight of Calvia is the monumental church of Sant Joan Baptista.
